Amanda Bossard, fresh out of Anchorage High School, in 1992 began her studies in marine biology. Bossard began her professional career in commercial seafood in 1999, when she started working as a crew member on the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut schooner turned to salmon tender with Murat Aritan. She has been who has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard has been married to Aritan and has joined their teams to take over their respective industries. They both believe in saving as well as profiting from natural resources that are used in the industry of seafood. Otolith, a wholesale direct seafood company, was established on the 7th of July 2007 Bella Bossard (age 3), Andre Bossard (1 year old) as well as Bossard's mom. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia after having two young children. The husband of the business has a lengthy history in the fish industry that often means they stay separate for five months or longer. It is during this time that they're focused on their financial and environment targets. Bossard along with Isabella Andre and Isabella Andre (ages 12, 10 respectively) are back each year, beginning in July of 2016 and continue to Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest from wild salmon. With a small 42 troller, the Bossards catch salmon using hooks. They work in conjunction with Aritan in a local processing plant for a couple of weeks.
